How Do You Get Music Videos On Your I-Pod?

Written by Amy Nutt on December 31, 2008

The Apple I-pod is one of the most technologically advanced multi media players on the market. The new I-pod touch and I-pod video have the capabilities to store and play thousands of songs and pictures like the older models, but now have the technology to store and play hundreds of hours of video as well.

Apple has taken instant, hand held entertainment to a new level, allowing I-pod users to create their own videos and upload them onto their I-pods to enjoy and share, or to purchase their favorite music videos from I-tunes (or one of any number of other online retailers) to carry with them anywhere they go.

Where to get your Favorite Videos

There are a number of ways to get your favorite music videos such as Eminem and movie clips onto your I-pod where youll be able to enjoy them wherever and whenever you want.

The Safest Bets

You can join a website for the specific purpose of supplying videos for portable media players. This is often a good option, because the files will already be in the format that will be compatible with your I-pod software, so all you have to do is essentially point and click to have all of your favorite music videos in the palm of your hand. The only downside to joining a membership site, is that you have to pay the fee regardless of how many videos you download - so if you only find a few that you really want, then you could be paying an exceedingly high per-video fee. The up side is that downloading videos this way is perfectly safe and legal; you can search and download all the videos you want without any fear of viruses or legal repercussions.

You can transfer videos from DVDs that you already own, which will be free, but a little bit more complicated. I-pods only support video in the MPEG 4 format, which means that any videos in any other format will have to be translated into the MPEG 4 format in order to be compatible with your I-pod. Translating video into this format will require you to purchase software that can change the video format, creating an extra cost and adding an extra step to the process. You may or may not be able to find a software application that can translate certain video formats for you for free, but be very wary about what sites you download programs from - in looking for a cheaper alternative, you may just find yourself with an unwanted virus.

You can also join a “pay as you download” site, where you wont have any out of pocket cost to join, but will pay for each individual video that you download. This is just as safe and legal as the pay membership sites, but you will probably end up paying a bit more for each individual video that you download. These sites often have very extensive libraries containing thousands and thousands of videos to choose from like Lil Wayne or akon, so finding the exact videos that you want shouldnt be very challenging.

A Cheaper but, Risky Option

If you dont want to pay for the software to translate videos into the MPEG4 format, or pay anything for the videos that you download, you can always visit a free download or shareware site. Youll usually be able to find exactly what you are looking for on these sites, but the big downsides here are that it is dangerous and illegal. These sites usually arent monitored very well, so its pretty common to find that either a virus or some form of spy-ware has found its way onto your computer, particular if your are on the sites often.

Whatever method of downloading videos to your I-pod that you happen to choose, youll be opening yourself up to a whole new style of entertainment. Youll have instant access to all of your favorite music videos, no matter when or where you want to view them. Apple has totally changed the way we are able to entertain ourselves with the capabilities of the new series of I-pods.

Add Music From iPod To Computer - The Way To Do It

Written by Davion W on December 30, 2008

It is fairly easy to transfer music to your iPod, but knowing how to add music from iPod to computer is another thing.

Manually or automatically synchronizing your iPod with your computer’s music library can enable you to copy the files from computer to your iPod device, but to do it the other way, meaning to transfer music from iPod back to your PC entails a lot more work.

A possible reason why Apple restricted this particular feature of letting you add music from iPod to computer is to prevent piracy and protect music companies selling their songs to Apple’s iTunes. After all, when there is ease in transferring music from iPod to computer, people are likely to take advantage of it.

For those of you with clean and pure intentions — do not despair. Adding music to your computer from iPod is still possible. You can still make a back up of your files in case your iPod crashes.

Before music can be added back from iPod to computer, you must make the music folder in your iPod visible. This can be tricky because normally the music folder is hidden and cannot be accessed easily.

You will need a software called TinkerTool in order to find the hidden files if you are using Mac. The software can be downloaded from the internet and when you have done that already, plug in your iPod to your computer and then launch iTunes. If iTunes asks you if you would like to replace your iPod’s contents with songs from the iTunes library, just say no. Instead, look for the iPod icon from the source list and click on the Manually Manage Songs and Playlists and Disk Use options. Launch TinkerTool and click on the Finder Tab to see hidden files. The Relaunch Finder should be clicked then, while the iPod’s icon on your desktop should be double clicked. Inside this folder are several other folders, and one of these is the music folder. Now, drag this to your desktop and copy the files from your iPod.

On the other hand, if you are using Windows, just plug your iPod and launch iTunes. Pick the iPod icon that you see listed on the iTunes source list. Then, check the Manually Manage Songs Playlist option and the Disk Use option. Look for the iPod icon in My Computer. Proceed to Tools Menu, Folder Options and then View Tap. You will find the Hidden Files and Folders option there. The Show Hidden Files and Folders option should b enabled. Next click your iPod folder and the iPod control folder. Drag the music folder to your desktop so you can add music from iPod to computer.

Take a look at my site where you can learn more ways of how to add music from iPod fo computer.

Tips For Car Stereo

Written by Ferdinand Mekinsy on December 30, 2008

Expos and conventions are avenue of car stereo sales . Most of the time, the good stuff come out at expos, whether it be a car expo, audio system expo, however, usually the largest car stereo sale happens at a gathering of car audio makers. Well, at these kinds of expos and conventions, it is not usually a sale because the manufacturers usually try to get buyers for their newest product. If you have the money and you are out there to procure some serious hardware, then by all means, SPLURGE AWAY!

There are two types of mounting in a car stereo installation. ISO mounting is when the radio can be screwed to existing factory radio brackets, such as in most Japanese cars. Ring mounting is when an aftermarket radio comes with a metal ring that gets mounted to the factory radio hole or aftermarket kit via bendable tabs. In many cars, dash and trim rings have to be filed to enlarge the radio hole. Once the ring is installed, the radio slides in and is held by snaps. In most cases, special tools are required to remove the radio.

Other tips which might help: Another way to get a discount car stereo is to SUBSTITUTE. Like cars, Japanese made units are often cheaper than German/European/American made units. Also, look at the basics. What is it that you need, as in the most BASIC FEATURES? Do you really need that mesmerizing LED display, or can you do without it? Goes for speakers too. If youre not going to enter a car audio competition and you just want to hear good treble and bass levels without making your speakers croak, maybe you can do away with a couple of 3way/4 way speakers. A big subwoofer will definitely need an amplifier, and those are already 2 things to buy.

For unconventional speaker locations, sometimes metal has to be cut. You might want to leave this to the professionals, tools like plasma cutters and pneumatics drills are needed. However if you are going to insist, a pair of metal snips (left and right cut) will do.

Take a look at any good car stereo system and you will probably see a Pioneer car stereo unit plugged into the console. Alongside with quality speakers and a strong lineup of accessories like LCD panels and navigational devices, Pioneer products/Pioneer car stereos have earned a huge following the world over.

Sound Effects Library: Strategies on Making One

Written by SFXsource on December 29, 2008

As the use and creation of video has exploded over the past several years, so has the demand for sound effects. Therefore, many folks who have recordings or sound design experience may want to put together sound effects libraries of their material which can be licensed for money. Below you will find a broad outline of the process for creating a profitable sound effects library.

1. Using a mobile hand-held digital recorder, record a huge variety of 48k sample rate single hits and ambiances of all possible types.

2. Edit, normalize, filter, and eq these files in a digital audio workstation (DAW) to clean up the sounds and increase volume.

3. Bounce down these edited distinct sound effects into single .wav products as stereo files at a 48k 24bit sample rate if possible.

4. As you bounce each file, name them with consistent SKU numbers with three unique letters followed by 5 digits such as AOS00001 Dog Bark 1, AOS00002 Bird Chirp 1 and so on.

5. Make an excel sheet that includes file name, categories, sub-categories, SKU numbers, length, descriptions, keywords, and pricing.

6. Make different formats for all the files such as .mp3s based on 44.1k sample rate for web use and .aiffs for people who use Macs.

In order to earn several hundred dollars or more per month make sure to create several thousand sound effects. Seek out as many online stores as possible who are willing to license your library online. With a few emails, you should be able to access 10 or more online shops who are ready to market and license your sounds.

How “At Home with Hebrew” was Created

Written by Neal Walters on December 29, 2008

When I first started learning Hebrew in 1994, most books jumped into teaching sentences and grammar, and only covered the Hebrew alphabet on one or two pages. You really cannot learn how to read Hebrew with just one or two pages of training. You really need a whole course dedicated to that subject.

Finally, I found an exercise book that was dedicated to just teaching a person to read the Hebrew letters. This book would teach one letter, and a few vowels in the first chapter. The second chapter would follow-up with the same letter, and add another letter and another vowel or two. In Hebrew, the vowels are written below or above the Hebrew letters, and they are called Nikud.

Using this system, I was able to master “site reading” of Hebrew. In other words, even if I didn’t understand the words I was reading, I could sound-out each word in the Sidur (prayer book) or the Hebrew Bible, or a Hebrew lesson book. The only problem was, sometimes I was still guessing and didn’t have anyone to confirm if my new reading abilities were correct or not.

Thus, I was left wanting more. If you are lucky to have a personal Hebrew tutor, then they can hear you pronounce a word or phrase, then they can correct any mistakes you make. But not everyone has the luxury of their own private Hebrew teacher. As a computer programmer, I thought that it would be be so much better to have a computer tutorial that would show the words, then let you try to pronounce them. After that, you would be able to click on the word, to confirm if you had pronunced it correctly or not. And thus, “At Home with Hebrew” was born.

A friend of mine helped me with the Hebrew fonts, and suggested a multimedia book-oriented tutorial program called “Toolbook”. I purchased and learned Toolbook, and slowly began to write my own Hebrew tutorial program. It was a big challenge and very time consuming. It probably took over two full years to get the product in the format that it is today.

One of the challenges was deciding the order in which to teach the Hebrew letters and vowels. Another challenge was just the shear volume of words that had to be keyed in the computer. There was no easy Hebrew word processor, so the data entry was a big challenge. The final challenge, was recording over 2700 Hebrew word and sound files, so that program would be able to pronounce each and every word.

Finally, the art work came together, and the progam changed from three diskettes (you don’t see those much any more) to a CD/ROM. I learned Microsoft Frontpage and began selling the program online, back when the world wide web was just in its infancy. After 10 years, I have literrally sold 100s of the program.

When I first started “At Home with Hebrew” in 1994, the concept of selling on the internet was still new; some people even questioned if it was legal. I learned Microsoft FrontPage and created the first version of my website, and over the years the site had grown to sell many other Hebrew tutorials. Our recent products include “Hebrew Kindergarten” and “Songs of the Shabbat”.

Make Funny Videos and Make Money

Written by John Savage on December 24, 2008

You can easily make funny video websites, and then profit from them nicely. Many people have done it and are actually making their living off it. Here’s how to make funny video websites and make money at it:

1. Getting a site.

So, the first thing that we do when making a funny video website is to make sure that we have a great name. This should be a fun excercise, making sure that we find a name which is if possible different and yet appealing, as this will help us get a good steady supply of traffice to our site.

2. How we get the videos.

You can easily lift videos from other popular video sites. But there are also sites that allow you access to many of the popular funny videos which you can use. Many sites share with one another videos as well. So getting the videos to supply for your funny video website is relative easy.

3. How to Make the Money

Making money off your site is going to consist of different forms income streams. From click on ad’s, banner advertising, and actual products which you can sell on your site and receive heavy commissions from.

Now in the previous paragraph I touched on getting traffic through PPC ads, and to do this you need to contact Google ads and Yahoo ads and they will lead you through a simple sign up system and help you with the creation of your ads. Start small, as as the money rolls in you can increase your cost per click, and so increase your traffic.

4. Making it all work.

There are specific programs you can get for building sites. They will take the headache of “coding” away, and have you setting up your site quickly and fairly easily. A good “make video website” book or manual will show you exactly what needs to be done and provide inside access to sources which can make things thousands of times easier.

How to Build a Professional Composer’s Site

Written by SFXsource on December 24, 2008

A composer’s website functions in many ways and is the main means of communication with the outside world. A website will serve as a reference for your audience, act as your electronic agent, and store valuable media such as photographs, music excerpts, and information such as your biography for media outlets. It is your online business card and is essential to build your career in the 21st century. Following are several key elements necessary to an effective music composer’s website.

1. When choosing the design for your site make sure to consider ease of use so that visitors can navigate your site easily.

2. Display your activity by posting dates of recent and upcoming performances of your work.

3. Keep an up-to-date catalog of your work online. This allows performers or promoters of music to see if your catalog includes something that interests them.

4. Provide both a brief and full biography on separate pages detailing people you’ve worked with, press clippings, etc. You’ll be surprised how often a short biography these come in handy.

5. Let online guests demo your work by having at least three music clips available in .mp3 format.

6. Social networking sites are active arenas of musical activity so post links in profiles on such sites. Participate in the action!

7. Your contact information should be professional and memorable. You’re in trouble if you’re still using that guitargod 13 @ aol.com email address so simply use your real name or business name.

A website that meets the criteria listed above is sure to increase your visibility and lead to growth in your career. Just keep in mind, though, that your home on the web should portray you not only as a professional but also as someone with a personality, so don’t be afraid to show some of yourself. While professionalism is always a good thing, visitors are more likely to relate to you if you connect to them on a personal level.

Good luck!
